How do I get rid of a musty odor in my basement?

I live in Massachusetts, so we're coming off a rainy fall. I can't find any water in the basement, but it smells musty. I ran a window air conditioner in there for 48 hours straight – thinking it would help to dehumidify. No luck. Any suggestions?

My neighbor’s lack of gutters fills my basement with water. What can I do?

I have gutters, my neighbor, who lives at a slightly higher elevation does not. When it rains, all of his rain water runs of of his roof and pools at the edge of my house. Recently, the standing rain water has worked it's way into my basement.

I’m building a house. I’d like to have a furnished basement, how do I make it not feel damp?

Window is grade level and water is entering basement through foundation near window. how to fix?

So here is what makes these more of a pin to fix. there is a concrete sidewalk and asphalt driveway that is 20 feet off of the house and it is about the game elevation as the bottom of the window. the water doesnt appear to be coming through the window because in the basement the floor and wall are wet 7 feet on either side of the window
